PAPILIONIDAE

Swallowtails (Papilionidae) are a family of large, brightly colored butterflies belonging to the clade Ditrysia. There are approximately 600 species, mostly tropical, but they inhabit every continent except Antarctica. The family includes the largest diurnal butterflies, those of the genus Ornithoptera from Australia.
