RIODINIDAE

Riodinidae is a family of butterflies belonging to the superfamily Papilionoidea, and it comprises three subfamilies.

They are notable for the behavior of their adults and the adaptations of their larvae, which live in association with ants, and for the high morphological and phenotypic diversity both among and even within recognized genera. However, they are probably the least studied butterfly family worldwide.
