SCARABAEIDAE
Scarabaeids (although this name is also applied to other Coleoptera) are one of the large families of beetles with almost thirty thousand described species. Their size ranges from 2 to 180 mm, and some of their species are among the largest living insects (Goliathus spp., Dynastes hercules). Among the scarabs are such popular beetles as dung beetles (genera Scarabaeus, Canthon, Gymnopleurus, Sisyphus.
